In general, any effluent from industries and factories using acids that have a pH outside the neutral range should definitely be neutralized before entering the wastewater cycle. Neutralization process
The most important point in the acid neutralization process is the regulation of the pH of acidic wastewater. The production of hazardous toxic gases during neutralization operations damages the equipment. By adding an alkaline acid neutralizer to the effluent, the pH should reach about 7. The amount of neutralizing agent is plotted using the neutralization curve by titration of the Asadi effluent samples with alkali. The dimensions of the neutralizing tank and injection equipment also affect the amount of neutralizing material used.
