PPD is a polymer used to control and prevent the formation of large crystals as a result of improving fluidity at low temperatures.
Pour Point Depressants (PPD) are additives which retards the adverse effects of wax crystallization, and lowers the pour point.
Addition of these PPD products effectively influence the flow of fuels and crude oil. These products will work as crystal modifier to prevent crystal growth and wax formation in the system. These products will prevent collection of Paraffin's and lead to improve heat exchanger performance. These additives are cost-effective solutions to ensure smooth flow of the fuel and crude oil to prevent fuel filter problems caused by separated paraffin’s. The function of these additives is to interact with the wax crystals, modify their growth, reduce their shape & size, prevent them to form agglomerates & also reduce the temperature at which they crystallize.
